Hello and welcome to my page! Hmm. What can I say about myself? haha I was born in America but for the past several years, I have spent my life moving around and looking for the place that feels like home. So far, I've spent time in China, Japan, and Poland and I have no idea where I'll end up next, but who knows! I've got my eye on maybe seeing New Zealand or Iceland at some point in the future. As for writing, it's apparently in my bones. According to my parents, I was telling stories even before I can remember doing so. I used to write all sorts of things in my younger years and started my first official novel when I was 14. Maybe one day I'll brush it off and see if it can't be salvaged. XD It was supposed to be a four part saga and younger me thought it was amazing. The current me knows there is something there but it will take a lot of polish to bring it up to speed. While I appreciate a great many kinds of stories, I personally dabble in the realm of the fantastic. Fantasy is my bread and butter with a heaping helping of adventure on the side. I can do science fiction and I'm not averse to horror, but as for most of everything else... I'll leave those to the respective professionals. In recent years, I've done a fair bit of work with fanfiction though it's mostly in regard to borrowing characters. The worlds are my own, by and large. Given my love of stories and fantasy in general, it should come as no surprise I'm also a fan of similar books, games, and movies. My favorite authors of all time include such names as Anne McCaffrey (the Dragonriders of Pern books), Mercedes Lackey (Heralds of Valdemar), and Andre Norton (the Elvenborn trilogy). I've also got a soft spot for Juliette Marillier and Patricia C. Wrede as well as Piers Anthony. I'd be very hard pressed to choose a favorite movie but some that I always go back to or that had a rather large impact on me include: Legend (1984), The Fifth Element, The Mummy (1999), Aliens, and so many animated films and shows it would be hard to recount them all. I fully adore Xena and Buffy though and was a huge fan of the original X-Men show as well as Gargoyles. Anybody remember that one? haha And as for games, Dungeons and Dragons will always be near the top of that list, but Werewolf from World of Darkness is also amazing, and I am no stranger to any number of role playing games on the Playstation. Valkyrie Profile will forever remain one of my absolute favorites. Anybody a fan of Norse mythology? When I'm not getting lost in the various worlds and stories surrounding my existence, I am an English teacher that focuses mostly on conversation at the moment but I admit to preferring reading and writing any given day of the week. Shocker, I know. haha I don't know that this is what I will do for the rest of my life but I have made the recent decision to hopefully start taking steps to publish something. And if not through an actual publishing company, than by myself. Here's to taking those first steps!

I’m Back!

April 28, 2022April 28, 2022 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

For the audio version, you can listen here. Surprise! I don't know if anyone is still following or how active anyone else is, but here we go again. I've recently decided to resurrect this page and see if I can't actually do something with it this time around. I'm looking to try and publish something … Continue reading I’m Back!

To Post or Not to Post? That is the Question

December 13, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

Through a process of trial and error on various occasions with different writing sites, I have come to the conclusion that it is ultimately very satisfying to write for myself, which is the encouraging part, but that it is also somewhat discouraging when you're excited about what you're doing and you want to share it … Continue reading To Post or Not to Post? Successfully ‘Completed’ NaNoWriMo

November 25, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

Huzzah!  So as of the 24th, I hit the required 50,000 words and was able to validate after midnight last night so my goal has been met!  What did I do to celebrate?  Took a step back to work on random oneshot that has absolutely nothing to do with the story I'm working on.  lol  … Continue reading Successfully ‘Completed’ NaNoWriMo

Bugle’s Call

November 12, 2013April 29, 2022 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

Listen to the poem here. It has been a long time since I've been moved or inclined to attempt to write any sort of poem.  Not for lack of thinking about it but they don't exactly tend to be my forte.  However, I was in my observation class the other day and we were talking … Continue reading Bugle’s Call

Finally!

November 10, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

Huzzah!  Took me long enough but I finally found a story arc that I want to pursue (again mind you and hopefully this one won't fall apart at the first sign of resistance) and have officially started my word count in NaNoWriMo (weighing in at 2659 at this point in time)!  My synopsis and excerpt … Continue reading Finally!

Of Music and Books

November 6, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ 2 Comments

Sometimes, it's easy to get wrapped up in your own work and not really see much of anything else beyond the words on the page.  Very recently, I have been reminded of two rather significant points to remember, one of which I had mostly forgotten, though I've been reminded of on several occasions.  The first … Continue reading Of Music and Books

A Bit of a Late Start

November 3, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

So I was totally geared up for NaNoWriMo prior to the month starting and now, here we are, three days in and I have yet to write a single word for the story I had originally been banking on.  Not that I haven't been writing, but it just hasn't been for NaNo.  lol  The initial … Continue reading A Bit of a Late Start

Wake Up!

October 31, 2013May 8, 2022 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

While maybe not the most appropriate post for Halloween, I figure I'll go ahead and get this ball rolling one piece of writing at a time.  lol  So the following pseudo drabble (under 1000 words is short for me  lol) details a relatively amusing wake-up scene between our good friends Donghae and Eunhyuk.  Yes, it's … Continue reading Wake Up!

Getting Back on the Horse

October 30, 2013 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

Okay.  Here we go. It's been far too long since I've attempted to come back to my forlorn little corner of a blog and do anything with her for which I am... both somewhat disappointed in myself for and hopeful at the same time.  While it might not be anything serious, I can only hope … Continue reading Getting Back on the Horse

The Loss of Order: Post #14

November 24, 2012 ~ Naomi Edmondson ~ Leave a comment

At last, our heroes must leave the comfort of Moorhall for further dangers unknown.  Better prepared this time, the beginning of the trek is almost enjoyable save for the knowledge they know enemy patrols are nearby.  However, the adventurers are blissfully ignorant of a greater danger that now stalks them...   ~~~~~~~~~~   It was … Continue reading The Loss of Order: Post #14
